The use of car waxes protects our bodywork against weather conditions and deepens the natural color. Several factors influence the selection of wax. The basic ones are: the age of the car, the condition of the car body, the method of applying the wax (whether we will wax the car freshly washed and still wet or dry). The choice of waxing method is also not accidental and depends primarily on the preparation we want to use.

How to understand "wet" car wax?

Wet waxing a car is much faster than dry waxing. The liquid formula used in this type of waxes allows us to reach all nooks and crannies of the bodywork. What is important, by using this type of waxing, we can perform activities aimed at protecting and refreshing the body immediately after washing the car with wet paint, hence the name "wet wax".

However, this is not the end of the list of advantages of this type of wax, but just the beginning. Wet waxing the car allows you to mask small scratches that appear on the car body during its use. Therefore, delicate abrasions, scratches caused by hitting the jacket zipper when getting in and out, or even scratches caused by thin branches of bushes will no longer matter. Wet wax should be able to cope with a much longer list of unwanted accidental events.

How to apply car wax correctly?

Another important aspect concerns the method of applying wax to the car's paint. Wet wax is applied directly to the washed car, with water usually still dripping on it. The application method is very simple and quick. Just spray the body with wax and wipe it dry with a microfiber cloth. The only thing to remember is weather conditions, which unfortunately have a significant impact on the effect. Wet technique is not recommended at low temperatures. Although there is no conventional limit, most experts advise to postpone waxing to another date if the temperature is around 15 degrees Celsius. Similarly, you should not wax your car in direct sunlight when the mercury on the thermometer shows more than 25 lines. The decision to carry out the waxing process in such conditions may turn out to be a Sisyphean task, because the water mixed with wax will dry very quickly on the bodywork.

There are some notable products on the market that are called wet wax. Before using any of them, the driver should carefully read the method of use recommended by the manufacturer. Each preparation, although intended for the same purpose, will most likely differ in its chemical composition. Some of them need to be diluted with water before use. Here it is important to check the recommended proportions on the bottle.

How often should you wax your car?

Before deciding to carry out wet waxing, the driver should also realize that it is a procedure that requires regularity. Manufacturers rarely include information on the recommended frequency of waxing a car on the packaging. The most common belief among motoring enthusiasts is that this should take place every quarter, just before the end or beginning of the next season;

– before the beginning and after the end of winter. Winter is undoubtedly the most difficult period for all motor vehicles. Due to the frequent frost, which is invasive by creating ice covers on the body and windows.

– after every third car wash. In this case, weather conditions play the main role. The worse the weather, the faster the car loses its aesthetic value and requires washing. Therefore, following this rule, it is difficult to clearly indicate what time intervals will separate one waxing from another.

The last key aspect concerns the evenness of applying the preparation to individual materials used in the production of the car. This means that approximately the same amount of wax should settle on the hood of the car as well as in hard-to-reach places. This approach will guarantee an even shine. It should also be remembered that most wet waxes cannot be applied to car windows because they are mainly intended for the bodywork.

How to perceive dry waxing?

Dry waxing is a process using wax in a paste form. They are performed primarily on slightly older and damaged bodies, remembering that before applying wax, the car should be dried well and all dirt removed. Wax in the form of a paste, although applying it is more problematic than in the case of "wet" waxes, gives much more spectacular effects.

First of all, it should be noted that dry wax is intended for patient people who have a bit more time. Dry wax application is time-consuming and requires precision. However, this does not discourage most drivers, on the contrary. Automotive enthusiasts love spending time with their cars, some devote every free moment to it. In their opinion, dry waxing a car is time spent pleasantly. So it's no wonder that this is one of the most popular waxing methods.

For people who don't like maintaining their car, but still appreciate when their car is clean, dry wax also has something to offer them. Namely, it is an effect. A thoroughly washed and wiped car, waxed dry with paste, guarantees a very good visual effect. The car almost immediately looks as if it were a few years younger.

Focusing on the issue of regularity, a similar principle can be adopted as in the case wet wax.

How to shine paint using wet wax?

Properly polishing your car's paint with wet wax is not as difficult as it may seem. However, there are a few rules to remember. Let's analyze this process in a few steps.

STEP 1: Wash and rinse the car with water.

This is a very important step and has a significant impact on the final result. It is best to wash your car by hand using a good quality shampoo before waxing. Then, after carefully applying the cleaning preparation to the bodywork, rinse the entire car well with a stream of running water. We try to rinse both detergents and impurities well so that bad-looking streaks are not created during waxing.

STEP 2: Spray the wet surface with "Wet Wax".

Before applying the wax, remember about the appropriate temperature. The temperature of the car body when applying wax should not exceed 20 degrees Celsius. On sunny days, when the bodywork is very hot, the water dries very quickly on the surface of the car, making wet waxing impossible.

When we have a well-prepared, cleaned car, rinsed with running water and we are sure that the body temperature is appropriate, we can apply Moje Auto Wax wet. It is an effective wax-based polishing preparation for use on wet varnish. The preparation is extremely simple to use, quick and effective.

STEP 3: Wipe dry with a clean and soft cloth.

After applying the wax to the body, we can gently start polishing it using a microfiber cloth. By using these cloths, we can be sure that the polishing will be done well and that the cloths will not leave any fragments of the material they are made of on the bodywork. When waxing your car, remember that the wax layer is exactly the same thickness everywhere, and that you apply the wax on a well-cleaned bodywork that does not have any dust particles left on it.

Regular cleaning and care, using products from reputable companies, will allow us to enjoy the fresh, new look of the car for a longer time. Applying wax to the body yourself gives us a guarantee of a good result, and a refreshed, rejuvenated body gives us a sense of great satisfaction from the work done.
