Dust from brake pads is initially easily removed with fluids intended for this purpose, so it is recommended to clean the rims systematically. Rim cleaning products are solutions of acids or alkalis, sometimes neutral, enriched with detergents and other substances. Rims that are not cleaned regularly or are severely neglected may even require sanding off the paint layer and repainting.

Preparations for washing rims
If you are going to wash the rims, you should prepare: a pressure washer, a small soft brush and protective gloves. Before applying the preparation, the wheels should be cooled. The product will quickly evaporate from the hot surface, and the dried residue will damage the rim's paint. When using the atomizer in strong winds, be careful not to inhale the fumes. If there are chips in the paint around the wheels, they should be protected to prevent corrosion. It is very important to test its effect on a small surface before using the preparation, because due to its acidic reaction it will not be suitable for every type of surface. If there is a lot of mud, sand and gravel on the wheels, first rinse them with water under pressure. This is very important because it will avoid possible scratches of the rim with dirt particles.
How to use a super-strong rim cleaner in 5 steps
STEP 1: Before use, shake the bottle so that the active ingredients contained in the product are distributed throughout its entire volume, which will allow the product to work better.
STEP 2: Spray the cleaned surface evenly from a distance of about 20 cm. Maintaining this distance is extremely important because if we use the product at a distance of less than 15 cm, the pressure in the packaging may cause the preparation to splash to the sides (e.g. onto the paint surface). However, if we use the product from a distance above 25 cm, the product will not be dosed precisely. Correct dosing of the preparation is extremely important because it contains acids that can cause corrosion in the event of chips on the paint.
STEP 3: We wait a maximum of 30 seconds to allow the preparation to react with the dirty surface. To remove dirt from the nooks and crannies of the rim, we can use a brush or a soft brush. Let's try to reach as deep as possible, this will make the end result better. Unfortunately, the more time has passed since the previous washing, the more difficult it will be to remove the deposits formed when the brake pads wear.
STEP 4: Then rinse the rim and the surrounding area with plenty of water because the product is corrosive. We cannot leave unrinsed product remnants on the rim surface, as this could damage its surface. We must also make sure that the product does not remain on the suspension elements, hubs and brake calipers, because after driving a short distance, unrinsed dirt will create visible streaks.
STEP 5: Repeat the operation if necessary. We can push the car half a wheel turn. We will then see dirt that was visible in the previous position and could not be washed off.
