Tires are related to acceleration control, braking, traction control and noise level. More and more new technologies appear on the market, and the tires offered are increasingly stronger, adapted to higher speeds or overloads, in corners and during acceleration.
Car tires are the element in direct contact with the road surface and support the entire weight of the car. Neither the latest safety systems nor drives will function properly if the tires are not in good condition. We must remember that tires wear out and lose their properties during use.
Types of car tires, differences in their structure and functions
Tires can be divided into: summer, winter and multigrade tires.
Summer tires
They have few lamellas, grooves and other cuts. In the summer, we most often drive on dry surfaces, and the larger the surface of the tire in contact with it, the more effectively we brake. However, during the rainy season, the main channels drain water well because they maintain appropriate properties on wet surfaces. They are made of rubber and soot, which makes them harder and wears out slower, but below 7 degrees C they harden, reducing their effectiveness.
Therefore, you should always remember to change your tires as the seasons change. Weather conditions affect not only driving comfort, but also safety. And yet, we mainly drive because we want to reach our destination safely. Let us never allow a situation in which the lack of appropriate tires leads to an unpleasant road event, such as a collision or an accident.
Winter tires
They have a huge number of cuts and sipes - about five times more than in a summer tire. Thanks to this structure, they have high adhesion to the surface, while draining slush and water well. They are made of rubber and soot, but they also contain more silica. It increases elasticity and, as a result, they do not lose their elasticity at low temperatures.
Therefore, even when it is frosty and the roads are covered with snow, we can move. Of course, we should approach this with great caution and a dose of responsibility. In winter, even at low speeds, we are at risk of slipping. There may be a layer of ice under the snow, which is often unforgiving even for vehicles equipped with the best winter tires.
All-season tires
They are a combination of winter and summer tires. They are intended for use by a relatively narrow group of drivers who do little driving, mainly within the city, and who have cars with low engine power. However, on dry and hot surfaces, as well as at low temperatures, they will not provide as much grip as tires dedicated to a given season. Although all-season tires find their audience, their users may be afraid of longer journeys. There are different traffic dynamics in different places, sometimes we drive slowly, sometimes faster. It may turn out that they will not perform their function properly.
How to care for car tires?
Due to the important functions that car tires perform, we cannot forget about regular checks of the tread depth, air pressure in the tires, as well as their care. Car tires are exposed to harmful external factors.

We always start the tire cleaning process by washing the surface of any current dirt. Tire blackening – what is it for and how to use it?
One way to refresh your tires is to use tire blackeners. As the name suggests, the use of this type of preparation causes the tire to regain its dark color.
The effect of tire blackener can be compared to shoe polish. This agent not only brings out the original color of the tire. It also allows you to fill micro-cracks on the sidewalls of the tires. It often has hydrophobic properties. Thanks to them, the tire is better protected against dirt and the tires maintain their parameters longer.
Tire blacken often comes in the form of a dressing or milk. The preparation is applied to a washed and dried surface. Tire blacken can be applied using a cloth or sponge. After applying, wait a few minutes to dry and then polish the side of the tire.
Wet tire effect – what is it and how to get it?
If we want the tires to be not only well protected, but also look impressive, we can use a preparation that allows us to obtain the so-called wet tire effect. Using such an agent ensures shine. The tires look as if they had just been washed, even a long time after applying the preparation.
If we use the product regularly, we will extend the life of the tire. Tire milk perfectly protects the rubber and protects it against the harmful effects of external factors. Additionally, it refreshes the color and the surface looks aesthetic.
