Personalizing your vehicle does not have to mean changing the color of the body or decorating it with colorful stickers. An easier way is to have your own license plate. There are general but strict rules that must be followed for all license plates. However, it is possible to design your own, of course paying attention to all legal requirements and conditions. Such a car will certainly attract the attention of other drivers and road users. You can be sure that you will never confuse it with any other. How are individual boards designed and created?

In fact, personalized license plates can be ordered in virtually any circumstance. They are available when purchasing a new car and registering it for the first time, when re-registering a vehicle, or when changing address due to moving to a different county. However, there are several restrictions regarding the text on the plates. You cannot freely choose the letters and numbers, although you do have some freedom in this regard. Therefore , personalized license plates are intended for anyone who wants to personalize their car at any stage of ownership. The condition is compliance with applicable regulations and rules.
Limitations and basic rules
The first two characters on the plate always indicate the voivodeship and cannot be changed. The rest of the text is up to your creativity, although not every text will be accepted. Personalized license plates cannot contain offensive words or profanity. Therefore, when determining the text, it's important to consider what will be included on your new personalized plate. The first two characters are the letter assigned to the voivodeship, for example, W for Mazovia, K for Lesser Poland, and E for Łódź. The second character is a number from 0 to 9. This will certainly be present on any license plate, including personalized ones.
Your own license plate and your content
Your personalized inscription will appear after the letter designating the province and one of the numbers from 0 to 9. It must consist of 3-5 characters. We don't use Polish characters, but the last two positions can be filled with numbers. These characters typically form a specific, easy-to-interpret inscription. Custom license plates most often include the owner's first name, nickname, or initials. In some cases, the inscription is an abbreviation that only the vehicle owner can interpret. An interesting technique for creating license plate inscriptions is combining the province designation with other characters. For example, you could create the inscription D0 MINIK.
How much does a license plate cost to order?
As with any other vehicle registration, we register our vehicle at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DVT) in our jurisdiction of residence. We must complete and submit the appropriate application, attaching the required documents. Individual license plates are more expensive than standard plates, costing approximately 1100 PLN. If the individual plates are for a motorcycle, this amount will be half that. The waiting time for them is approximately one month. During this time, we must obtain temporary plates, which we also have to pay for. This will cost 62 PLN for a car and 37,50 PLN for a motorcycle.

Each license plate should be attached securely and permanently. This will reduce the risk of it falling off while driving. It should be mounted directly to the bumper or using a mounting frame . The latter option is preferable, as the frame makes it less invasive. Instead of drilling four holes in the bumper, the frame is simply attached using screws. Then, we place our custom plates within the frame. The frame can be used on both the front and rear of the vehicle. Several options are available, including black, matte silver, chrome, and with lettering.
